Ok, my totally true sleepwalking story goes like this.
The first was told to me by my mom, and it comes from hers and my dad’s heady days as newlyweds. Apparently they were watching some PBS documentary about whales before they went to bed.
Later that night my mom wakes up because she thinks my dad is hurt and screaming — but no, as it turns out he’s just imitating whalesong in his sleep.
She promptly loses it and wakes him up with her laughing. My dad, being kind of stodgy and dignified, to this day won’t admit the story is true.
The second is when I woke up with my big bedside table lamp on the floor, placed gingerly at least. Its lampshade was in bed with me, under the covers. I have no idea why.
